So much needless waste, every minute of every day. Unopened ketchup packets get thrown out with the burger wrapper and fry box. Not donated to the local food pantry, not returned to the establishment from whence they came. Just tossed out, like garbage.

The simplest solution to this problem is for everyone to only take as much ketchup as they will use. If your eyes are indeed bigger than your ketchup filled stomachs, please hang on to your unused packets. Next time at the drive thru, request they hold the ketchup. You’ve got some at home.

Some of us thought our individual contributions were not enough however, that more could be done. So we formed KetchingUp. Now hundreds of unused and unspoiled ketchup packets are combed out of landfills on a daily basis. In some cases these scavenged condiments are redistributed back to their place of origin, in others the ketchup is pooled and donated to local food programs for needy families. In the future, we hope to accept mailed donations of your extra packets. You can rest assured that they will go to people who need them. Thanks, and God bless!
